I'm back. And I'm working on some new upgrades to the site (not a new interface, unfortunately I've reached the limit of my HTML skills and have no time to develop new ones), but for now, I just wanted to drop in with some quick news.

The first bit of news is that yes indeed, I did get my name in Capcom Classics Collection Remixed for the PSP. So check your UMDs, folks, because now I'm famous. Or something. *L*

The second bit of news is that Capcom debuted a new collection at E3 (really, are these guys going to make any new games in the forseeable future?), the Capcom Classics Mini Mix for GBA, which you can read about here. Among other things, the Mini Mix will include a port of the NES Strider! Way cool. About damn time, too, I say. I just hope it's the original Japanese version and not the shoddy American version we have.

And speaking of the Japanese version of Strider for the Famicom, Lost Levels webmaster Chris Covell recently posted never-before-seen video of this version to YouTube, which you can view here. Read further commentary about this on GameSetWatch here.

This is interesting because 1) the Famicom version never made it out of beta, and 2) the thing about the Famicom version on this video is that it's dated 1988, a full year before the arcade version came out, indicating that the Famicom/NES game is the true successor to the manga (as we all figured out anyway), not the arcade series. It also reportedly has a different level layout from the American release, which I'm all for, because I always get lost in Australia and get sent back to Africa.

Thanks go out to both Suzaku (for sending me the Capcom Mini Mix press release and the 2ch.net link that led me to the Famicom Strider YouTube vid), and to CheapAlert at the Third Moon board at Invisionfree (for the link to the online CCMM press release). You guys rock!

Hopefully I'll be back before the next seasonal solstice, but you never know. For now, I'm out. Later!

P.S. Hey, Zero, over at Wikipedia! You're an ass! Just thought you should know.
