Reconnaissance

Wow. Huge update, this time. For me, anyway. To begin with, I did away with all the archived Recon messages. It got too time-consuming, trying to make sure I had everything pointing to the right pages. Plus there were only a couple anyone would want to see again anyway.

At any rate, there's a ton of stuff going on over in the Dossiers section. I finally got around to compiling all three of my "Mythology of Strider" articles, put up a couple of new game reviews, and finally left an open call for anyone who knows anything about Moto Kikaku's whereabouts to bloody email me.

I also revamped the Cannon-Dancer section. Because it sucked. I, quite frankly, didn't know what the hell I was talking about. Then I came across Radd Spencer's Cannon Dancer page and he set me right. You only come across pages that detailed every once in a while, and his was a massive help. I'd email him, but the bugger doesn't have an email address anywhere up on that page.

In that respect, he's smarter than I am. Probably has a smaller amount of spam flooding his inbox, too.

Oh yeah, I also put up some new fanart. And I revamped the Super GrafX Strider page, because I got quite a lot of obnoxious mail about the EPROM prototypes. No one fucking believed me. No one who emailed me, anyway. Fine. I put the contents of the post in the actual writeup. You can disagree with the poster if you want, but don't email me to start a flamewar. I don't have the time.

No. More. Flames. Is everyone clear about that? Do NOT flame my inbox. Ever. I run this site as a labor of love. I pay for my own webhosting, and not once have I ever begrudged that or asked anyone to pay me for it. All I ask in return is that you use common sense when emailing me. Okay?

Now, can we get to some actual news? Strider Suzaku informed me a while back that his scanlation group, Inane Scanlations, was interested in translating the manga. So I mailed him a photocopy of the sucker. Then his scanner broke. So I put it up on the site. Then he disappeared for a bit. It turned into this logistical nightmare that basically wound up with Inane putting Strider on the back burner.

It's a shame, too, because they're pretty good at what they do. Check this out.

I like how they replaced the Japanese on the side with their company name. They even patched the gaps that the Japanese kanji covered up!

Guys, this is the best shot we've had at getting the manga translated. If you want them to go ahead and finish translating it, you could email them and let them know just how much you would like to see an English-language version of Strider.

But again, be courteous. Don't bug the fire out of them. They're busy enough as it is.

With that, I'm gonna take off. See ya next time!
