Oh man. Oh man. You guys will never guess what I found. You just won't believe me.

I found not one, but TWO long-lost Strider conversions.

The first is a conversion of the original arcade game to Dreamcast. Yes. Dreamcast. Why the hell Sega wanted to convert a decade-old game to their cutting-edge system, I don't know. Maybe that's why they no longer make consoles.

Proof? Check THESE out:

Look at that! Sega was even going to put NEW enemies in there! Why the hell didn't this get completed?

The second long-lost Strider conversion...

Oh man, I'm going to savor this.

The second long-lost Strider conversion I found is THE SUPERGRAFX VERSION! I'll wait a moment while your brains recover from the shock.

Still with me? Good, because you'll never guess the format I found it in. I found it in a HUCARD FORMAT. Those of you who've read my catalog of debunked rumors about the fabled SuperGrafX conversion know that this is the LAST thing we were expecting. But that's how it turned up. Someone dumped the E-PROM to a blank HuCard, apparently.

Here's a picture of it:

But guess what? IT GETS BETTER. I managed to partially dump the ROM off this HuCard! You'll need Magic Engine in order to view it, though. II couldn't dump it completely because it's got some weird kind of copy protection on it. So there's not much to see right now, just a Hiryu sprite and a scrolling background layer.

Don't give up hope, though! I mean, we never thought they'd crack the encryption on the Cannon Dancer ROM either, but look what happened there! They made some bugfixes in their emulation code and all of a sudden, Cannon Dancer worked. Maybe it's the same kind of thing with Magic Engine, who knows?

Anyway, here's the link to the SGX Strider ROM. As I said before, you'll need Magic Engine or some other PC-Engine emulator to run it. If any of you have ANY success at cracking it, let me know, alright?

Man, what an awesome day!
