Damn. I missed it AGAIN. Every year I tell myself, "This year, do a special update on the LSCM's anniversary." And every year, something comes up and I can't get the update up in time.

This year, it's the LSCM's fifth anniversary. More on that in a bit.

But first, some news:

I don't know if you're aware of this, but Hiryu's made another cameo appearance in a game. Unfortunately, it's in another of those "Card Fighter's Clash" games by SNK, and not a true playable cameo like we had in Namco x Capcom.

This new Card Fighter game is for the Nintendo DS. It's called, aptly enough, "SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS", and it's due out in the US tomorrow. Yes. Tomorrow. Thanks to Jeremy Dewald for the heads-up.

In other news, Strider fan Greco Espinoza has taken it on himself to get the manga translated. Tired of scanlation groups taking their precious time, Greco has procured two separate copies of the manga, separated them from the binding with an X-Acto knife, and scanned them in at 600 dpi. He's also paid for translation of the pages to English, which set him back a cool $110. He plans on printing up a limited run of the English-translated manga, once he has all the elements in place.

The bad news? He wants to SELL this translation. I'm all for getting the manga translated, but I'm not sure Capcom would be happy about someone making money off material they hold the copyrights to.

Finally, some LSCM-specific news. I changed my email address. Phreaker.net was reselling my personal information to scummy, soulless spammers, which is why I got so much porn and Viagra email. So I deleted that account. I now have a Gmail account; check the Contact page for my new address.

As for the LSCM's fifth anniversary...

I never expected to be running the site this long. Never. Several times I almost packed it in. Each time, though, something interesting would come up and I'd decide to keep going just a bit longer.

The two high points of running this site had to be: 1) getting a ton of artwork from John Beckwith, among which was the Hiryu/Sheena/Kain pic I'd long sought after; and 2) getting my name in Capcom Classics Collection Remixed/Vol. 2.

I never, ever expected to be able to get my name in a videogame because of this site. I know it's not a huge deal, but it was more than I'd ever hoped for from this.

It's been fun doing this site. I hope to be around ANOTHER five years.

Thanks to everyone who's submitted, stuck around, or become friends with me through this site over the past five years: Bueno, Suzaku, LadyMaverick81, John Beckwith, Jeremy Dewald, and countless others have made this site what it is by contributing their opinions, their artwork, and their support. I thank you all.

Cheers.
