It's been a while, but I'm back. Temporarily, anyway. Since the LSCM has now entered its fourth year on the web, I'd like to take this moment to thank all the fans, the Strider-otakus, the random hits on the counter who make this site what it is. I'm talking about people like John Beckwith who submit vast wodges of fanart as well as people like Suzaku, Ryota, Dire 51, Lady Maverick81, and the Star Child who hang around on the Nexus, keep me updated with news, participate in all my crazy schemes, and even put up with me when I act like a complete and utter ass.
Like that last Recon message, for example. I'm amazed anyone stuck around after a message like that, and I'm sure it's very presence cost me quite a number of new visitors. Thanks again to all who've stuck by me. I truly appreciate it.
I suppose some of you are wondering just where I've been for so long. Well, I took a sabbatical after Hurricane Ivan completely decimated my hometown, and basically never came back from it. My job kept me so busy that I totally forgot about this site, and then something else happened which completely overshadowed any thoughts of this site until recently.
I met someone and asked her to marry me. She said yes. Blame her for my absence. *L*
I mean, really, if you had a hot fiancee wanting to spend time with you, would you be concerned about your cult fansite?
It hasn't all been fun-and-games, though. See, she has Marfan's Syndrome, a disease that affects the body's connective tissue. All of the body's connective tissue, particularly the tissue holding the aorta to the mitral valve in the heart. The aorta has a tendency to detach, causing leakages and other nasty side effects.
The upshot of all this is that my fiancee is in serious pain probably 85% of the time. Some days her joints hurt so bad she can't even walk without collapsing. So, that's really what's been occupying my time, not just lengthy make-out sessions on a loveseat sofa (although there has been plenty of that, too).
So I'll continue to update this site whenever I have the time, but I'm going to be relying more on the Access Log section than I have in the past. Recon messages like this one will be fewer between, as they just take too long to write. From now on, check the Access Log every time you come in. It'll tell you what's happening on LSCM.
Anyway, as far as news is concerned, apparently Namco and Capcom are pairing up to produce Namco Vs. Capcom, a 3/4 view RPG-style game in the Kingdom Hearts vein. It looks pretty cool (you can find screenshots at Jeux-france.com...thanks to Lady Maverick81 for posting this link to the Nexus), and our man Hiryu is, of course, featured in it. I really hope they come up with some cool skills for him. It'd open up the world of the Strider series a good bit, if Capcom would ever make another game.
Come to think of it, I'd like to see a Strider RPG. I think an active battle RPG along the lines of Secret of Mana could work. I'm imagining a huge Strider Meteo attack and practically drooling at the possibilities. What do you guys think?
Also, the long-awaited Manga section of the site is now open for business. Like I say on that page, if I get contacted by anyone about copyright violations, that page is going down faster than Paris Hilton in a homemade videotape. So get the pages while the gettin's good, because I don't know how long it's going to be up.
Alright. I think that's it. Check around the site for various updates or give me a shout out on the Nexus if you want. Thanks again for making this site so much fun to work on, guys. You're awesome.
Later.
