I used to just have a mailto form attached to this link, but thanks to the sheer manic volume of mail I'm getting, I've decided to lay down a few ground rules. I promise, they're not much, but they will insure that I get to your email faster.

  1. Search my site very, VERY thoroughly before asking me a question. I'm more than willing to accept corrections (a few of you have given me this kind of feedback, and I thank you), and I'm usually willing to help people find rare collectibles or artwork, but it really pisses me off to get emails asking questions I know I've answered on my site.

  2. Put "ATTN: LSCM webmaster", "RE: Strider" or some such in the subject line. It'll help me distinguish your real emails, questions, comments, etc., from the voluminous amounts of porn and Viagra spam currently clogging my inbox.

  3. Be patient. I'm very busy, as you can probably tell by the sporadic, infrequent updates I make to this site, so I most likely will not get to your email for a couple of days.

If you accept these terms, then by all means, email me here:

So many letters, so little time... Let's get down to it, shall we?

Hello, i luv ur website. There is alot of details which i have learnt from my favorite hero of all time, Strider Hiryu and the cool Hien.

Anyway, i have two large questions. In Strider 2, Meio, at the end of the game, asked Hiryu if he was the guy who appeared before him almost 2, or 20 thousand years ago. If that was the case, HOW OLD IS STRIDER HIRYU?

2nd question, i'm needing this info as i've been writing a fanfic on Hiryu: WHO IS STRIDER HIRYU'S GIRLFRIEND, TRUE LOVE, WIFE OR ANYTHING RELATED TO THAT?

PLZ GIMME BACK A DAMN'T REPLY SOON...THX

Pushy, pushy. *tsk, tsk* To answer your questions:

1) No one knows how old Hiryu is. That "2000 years" gaffe is an English mistranslation, IIRC.

2) Officially, Hiryu has no romantic entanglements. In the manga (which the NES game was based on), there's implication that Hiryu and Sheena have a little something on the side, but nothing big.

Hope that helps!

Er...

Huh? Which game did you finish? Strider 1 or 2? Surely not the NES version. Why don't you make the effort to put a little more clarity into your emails before you send them?

i just wanted to thank you for your website and the time you've taken to compile all these wonderful things regarding the strider franchise. and although i'm a big fan of strider already, your website gives me a new appreciation for it all.

so, thank you.

You're welcome. Thanks for taking the time to tell me that. It's not often I hear that, and I truly appreciate it.

Fuck you. I think TJ Rappel over at the Metroid Database gave a classic response to you and your kind, so I'm going to quote him in his entirety, by way of my own response:

"Shit no. This is MY site, I've put a lot of time and effort into it and I've taught myself everything I know about writing HTML and designing sites. And I did it not only because I was interested in learning to make websites--but the reason I learned to make websites was because I wanted to make the [LSCM]. It's literally a labor of love that spawned from being a long-time, true-blue [Strider] fan. I know it's not as fabulous or fancy as a lot of sites on the net, but I'm damn proud of it because it's MINE. While I appreciate sincere offers for help, I could never be as proud of the [LSCM] if somebody else did it. Likewise, the sites and webmasters that I admire the most are the ones who similarly do it all on their own, because they simply love the games they're compiling all that information about. I'm always learning more and trying to improve my skills, so let me work on this project on my own, alright?"

Signing me up for an automated mailing list is ALSO a sure sign you're being an asshole. Fuck off and die.
